Hazing Prevention and Education at Rutgers Health

It is our commitment to foster a learning environment that is not only inclusive and respectful but also safe for all students. In our community, there is zero tolerance for any form of hazing, which is strictly prohibited.

Recognizing and Responding to Hazing

  • Signs of hazing may include sudden behavioral or mood changes, unexplained injuries, lack of sleep, and financial burdens. Often, hazing presents itself as tradition or “team bonding”
  • Resist anyone who asks you to participate in hazing or hazing-related activities.
  • If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 911.

Reporting Hazing Incidents

  • Report any suspicions – anonymous reporting is available
  • Rutgers University Reporting Form – Online Reporting Form
    • Be as detailed as possible and document any supporting information
